Monique Kapp
Costume Designer

A graduate of both the Academy of Art College and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, Monique Kapp is presently completing her Master degree in fashion and textiles at the Academy of Art College. As a designer, seamstress and sculpture, she has an excellent understanding of materials and their potential applications - building wearable sculpture out of mild steel, copper, silver, surgical steel and gold in addition to her unusual designs. She takes much of her inspiration from pre-existing and original science fiction and fantasy characters.

Her work has been presented in multiple fashion shows including Camera Obscura, the Exotic Erotic Ball, Lost Wax, Burning Man, and the AAC Fashion Show. She has created costuming for Genetyx and the Empress of Alameda County, LaManz Dupri, among others. Ms. Kapp has been working closely with Capacitor Artistic Director Jodi Lomask since 2000, designing and executing costumes for Within Outer Spaces, Avatars and Digging in the Dark.
