
Thomas Day
Sound Director
Thomas Day has composed more than 40 works for a wide range of media, from chamber and orchestral music to live electronics and sound installations. He received a BA from State University College at Buffalo in 1990 and an MA from Mills College in 1995. Recent works have been performed at Marin Civic Center, ODC Gallery, St. John's Church, Theater Artaud, The Delivery Room, The Crucible Steel Gallery, Justice League, and The Big Sur Experimental Music Festival. He has received funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, City of San Francisco Grants for the Arts Program, California Arts Council, Los Angeles Music & Performing Arts Commission, and Meet the Composer/California. He has also received awards from: New Langton Arts-Bay Award (with his live electronic group Citizen Band), and The Paul Merritt Henry Prize. Earlier this year the composer participated in the Berkeley Symphony's Under Construction Program.
