Review Capacitor: Digging in the Dark
Voice of Dance
continued
Much credit is due to the technical people: sound by Noah Thorp, video by
Steven Vargas, Costume, Monique Kapp, interaction design, Glenn Meader, rigging,
Patrick Sears, lighting, Walter Holden and Patrick Hadjeck and props, Jodi
Lomask, Sara Filley and Alexander Zendzian, motion capture, Josh Ochoa/House
of Moves and short film by Dan Zox. Besides Gomes and Dixon, other dancers
(of ballet and modern training) are Nathan Brumbaugh, Lizelle Buckner, Katie
Diamond and Alexander Zendzian. Zack Bernstein is the skilled rhythmic juggler.
All perform with concentration and conviction.
Capacitor deserves attention to its projects. It is one of the most adventurous
groups in the Bay Area, offering food for thought as well as brilliant spectacle.
Jodi Lomask says, "As people living on the skin of the Earth, we all
share the experience of not really knowing what lies underneath." "Digging
in the Dark" offers some ways in.There are three more performances. GO!
