Capacitor: 'Digging in the Dark' (Thu/27-Sun/30)
To Boldly Go
Capacitor are not afraid. They are not afraid of falling out of human pyramids
or off of a circus apparatus. They are not afraid of strapping themselves
to any sort of new invention from LED helmets to fabric oceans. Best of all,
they are not afraid of appearing silly as they search for a way to take dance
as far into science fiction as it can possibly go -- or even farther. In other
words, they are fully committed to their geophysical, atomic, deep-space dance
odyssey, which makes for some extremely satisfying watching; there is no one
remotely like them. Their current work, "Digging in the Dark," heads
to the earth's core to touch the human soul. It's probably beautiful, strange
and possibly even silly. It's definitely unlike any other dance experience.
