CARI DELAPLANE
Director of Live Performance 

Cari Ann Delaplane is a dancer, interior designer, and mother of two.  She was born and raised in the Chicago area and studied Dance at the University of Illinois, graduating with Honors.  Cari’s Tiny Circus Dance Company premiered its first evening-length work in 2009.  She is Capacitor’s longest-tenured dancer and served as the Assistant Director for many years before her current role.

CORAL MARTIN
Director of Education and Outreach

Coral is an educator, performer, and small business owner. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Berkeley Ballet Theater. She has taught dance at Boston Ballet School, ODC, Berkeley Ballet Theatre, Shawl Anderson Dance Center, and East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, among others. Coral has performed with Capacitor, Oakland Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery, City Ballet of Boston, Mark Foehringer Dance Project, PUSH Dance, and has collaborated extensively with Jetta Martin. As an educator, Coral is committed to centering inclusivity and self-determination, autonomy, and experimentation in her classrooms. Coral holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, where she studied cultural anthropology, for which she was awarded the highest honors, and is the winner of the Evon Z. Voght Prize, Artist Development Fellowship, and the Shaw Traveling Fellowship.

ISMAEL ALVAREZ ACOSTA
Director of Special Events, Costume Designer, Dancer

Originally from Sonora, Mexico, Ismael received his dance training from Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey. After graduating he danced with the Ballet de Monterrey until 2009.  Ismael performed with Cuerpo Etereo, a modern dance company, throughout Mexico and the USA until 2012.  He received aerial dance training when he joined the company Circus, Danza, Teatro & Performance in 2005. Ismael moved to San Francisco to become part of the bay area dance community including Capacitor.

INKA SIEFKER
Contortionist

With roots in classical ballet, tap, and jazz, Inka flourished as a circus artist. Esquire Magazine dubbed her “Sexy and Deadly” after she set the Guinness World Record for “Farthest arrow shot into a target with the feet” while in contortion handstand. On the silver screen, she was featured as a stunt double for Pennywise in Stephen Kings's 2017 Major Motion Picture "IT". She has also performed with Circus Automatic, Golden Gate Dolls, Les Sept Doigts de la Main, and Guinness World Records.

JULIA OGRYDZIAK
Violinist

Julia Ogrydziak began playing the violin at the age of 3 and made her solo debut at age 6. She has performed throughout Europe and North America, including the Tanglewood Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, with a specialty in contemporary/live electronic music. She has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the New England Conservatory of Music, and in Paris. In addition to her violin studies, Ms. Ogrydziak has a Masters of Design degree with Distinction from Harvard and graduated from MIT with dual degrees in Music and Physics, receiving the AMITA award for most outstanding woman graduate. Ms. Ogrydziak is also an award-winning artist and designer, having exhibited in MOMA in NYC and receiving four Webby Awards. She is a Founding Partner of the design and technology firm Blacksquare.

MICAH WALTERS
Dancer, Acrobat, Contortionist, Aerialist

Micah Walters started his training in gymnastics as a child. He began his training in dance in his teens and has since soughtto combine dance and acrobatics into his own personal style. Micah competed in multiple dance competitions in high-school in the categories of jazz, contemporary, acrobatics, and modern. He has performed for the American Ballet Academy, Velocity Circus, The Vau de Vire Society, and City Circus before joining Capacitor.

LYDIA CLINTON
Social Media Manager, Dancer

Lydia Clinton is a Bay Area native where she studied dance at Grace Dance Academy and attended the LINES Ballet Summer Program. After graduating high school, she went to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA to pursue a BA in Modern Dance. During college, she also attended the American Dance Festival on scholarship and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Since returning to the Bay Area, Lydia has worked with a number of dance companies such as PUSH Dance Company, Zaccho Dance Theatre, and Capacitor. She has also discovered the joy of making dance videos which some have even gone viral reaching over 3 million views across TikTok and Instagram @itsjust_lydia.

YUKO HATA
Aerialist, Dancer, Contortionist

Yuko Hata grew up in Tokyo, Japan, studying rhythmic gymnastics and dance. A graduate from Japan Women’s College of Physical Education with a BFA in Dance. she joined the Shiki Theatre Company, performing in many productions, including “The Lion King." In 2009, she relocated to San Francisco to study aerial silks at the Circus Center and contortion under Serchmaa Byamba. She has since performed with Labayen Dance, Copious Dance Theatre, Capacitor, Acrobatic Conundrum, and Celebrity Cruises.

DAVID NGUYEN
Aerialist, Contortionist

David caught the circus bug after watching an acrobatic boylesque show in London. Since then, he’s trained with some of San Francisco and New York City’s finest talents at the Circus Center, Cayuga, Acrosports, Academy of Ballet San Francisco, and the Circus Warehouse. He specializes in aerial hoop and dabbles in dance trapeze, contortion, and ballet. Currently, he teaches and performs throughout the Bay Area while pursuing his studies to become a registered nurse.
